BATURA II
Der Gletscher Batura II ist Teil einer Bergkette Pakistans.Bis heute ist er unerforscht geblieben. Damit gleicht er einem leeren Raum auf unserer imaginären Landkarte.Die Installation Batura II zeigt teils handabdruckartige, teils prothesenartige, Aluminium- und Messinggüsse. Als Ansammlung von Objekten, die wie Klettergriffe an der Wand arrangiert wurden, liegt die Assoziation einer Kletterwand nah. Der Betrachter ist eingeladen die Objekte zu erspüren und sich damit einem Abgleich zwischen Gesehenem und Assoziierten zu konfrontieren.
Den Hintergrund für die Arbeit bildet der Blustspendeskandal der 80er Jahre und der daraus resultierende Vertrauensbruch zwischen Pharmaindustrie und Patienten, die weiterhin in einem Abhängigkeitsverhältnis von Blutprodukten stehen.

BATURA II
The Glacier Batura II is part of an Mountain Chain in Pakistan. Today the summit has yet to be explored.That makes the situation familiar to an empty space on an imaginary map. The installation Batura II shows partly hand shaped and partly prosthesis aluminium and brass castings. As a group of objects arranged to the wall, the association to a rock climbing wall is very close. The observer is invited to confront himself with the comparison of what is seen and what is assosiated by the ability to sense the objects.
The background of this work is based on the blood donation scandal in the early 80`s in Europe and USA . The work is also dealing with its result of trust and dependence from patients in the pharmaceutical industry and thier dependency ratio.
